Kiwannis and Key Club Volunteer Day!

Thank you to Darice Wilson and the members of the El Dorado Kiwanis Club for orchestrating another successful volunteer day at the Children’s Museum on April 11th. With the help of 23 students from Weston Ranch, Franklin, McNair and Middle College High School Key Clubs, the Museum received much needed maintenance to our garden, agriculture and Delta exhibits. The volunteers were also helpful in preparing projects and activities for our many upcoming community outreach events. For the past 4 years the El Dorado Kiwanis and local high school Key Clubs have chosen the Children’s Museum of Stockton as their community service partner, and for that we are very grateful!

Egg Science success! Who knew eggs could be so much fun!

Special thank you to Stockton Collegiate High School Chemistry Teacher Mr. Brandon Piasecki, for showcasing how fun science can be with eggs! The eggs-travagant workshop included egg dying, walking on eggs and a neat egg vacuum experiment. But the highlight of the day was the egg drop. Participants used tape, paper towel rolls, plastic bags and other recyclable materials to construct a protective vessel to carry their egg. Once the egg was secure, the participants were able to drop their egg from a structure within the Museum to see if their egg would survive. The day was filled with lots of smiles, laughs and cracked eggs!
