Press Release December 14, 2012

Our hearts go out to the families, teachers and children of Newtown Community.

No words can provide comfort during this tragic time. We are incredibly sorry for this tremendous loss.

The Children’s Museum of Stockton was built when this community came together to create a safe place for children to play and explore. The Museum is a tribute to the children and adults of the tragic Cleveland School shooting in 1989. We can’t help but remember that day but we continue to strive to create a place that preserves and honors the legacy of the children that lost their lives that day.

The Museum is a shining light unifying the community. It has been a testament to the strength of this community and love we have for our children. Today the Museum is a fun and exciting place that welcomes 60,000 families each year.

Our hope is that the Newtown community also finds the strength in the coming years to heal beyond this horrific day.
