Getting ready for reopening: Repairs, Maintenance and Volunteers

Wow, wow, wow! We have been so busy getting ready for reopening. We cannot wait for you to see all the fun improvements we have made to the Museum and our exhibits. We are truly grateful for our community who have supported us throughout the pandemic and now as we get ready to welcome back our visitors. Our board and staff took this time of closure to focus on our exhibits including maintenance and repair. (Blog post about the upcoming Destination: Space exhibit coming soon!). Thank you to our friends at Stanislaus Food Products for volunteering their time, skills and materials to help spruce up the Museum. Thank you Tom Cortopassi and the Cortopassi Family Foundation for facilitating this amazing group of volunteers. Together Sam and his team of mechanics were able to make repairs to 8 exhibits! Not only that!...but they connected us to Crown Painting, who brought a talented crew of painters to give our Museum a much needed facelift! Thank you Ron, Toby and their crew for paining our Art Studio, restroom hallways, and entry way. Even our staff were busy painting many areas around the Museum that needed a little touch up. What a difference a coat of paint makes! And finally, again thank you Tom and Sam for connecting us with Jeff Ashby of Ashby Consulting and C.T. Brayton to work on our cottage exhibit. They were given quite the task of transforming the Conservation Cottage into a cool construction cottage that shows children the "bones" of a house. Very fun project! Thank you to David at Delta Construction for assisting with the partial demo. And finally we have to thank our friends Bob Savage and David Navone for coming back after repairing our recycling exhibit, to reconfigure our fire truck display. So happy to have all of our exhibits shining to their full capacity especially after sitting idle for over a year. Again we are so grateful for the support of our community and for all the volunteers that have been working with us lately. Thank you for your time and diligence to making our Museum shine for our community! See some photos of our awesome volunteers and their amazing work below!
